DANCE PROJECTS SERIES
Our studio's technical/teaching project
"Essential Waltzes and Floorwork for the Ballet Class"
Waltz combinations are a challenge. It takes years for a waltz to "look good", so introduce the work at an early age, and continue to teach it in all your ballet classes. At any audition, one dance combination would be a waltz because it reveals student knowledge. Waltz combinations encompass a huge amount of technique and experience, but it is truly learning to dance. Make this the year of "the waltz" in your studio, a dance project for all your classes and teachers.
This video offers centre work for both the young student and advanced classes. Also included is floor work. Utilized after the barre, we stretch on the floor to improve flexibility and range of motion. We have used these two combination for 15 years. We use slow, beautiful music. The students love the break and it is a great time to help each individual student.
"Learning to Jump at the Barre"
Changement, royale, entrechat, frappes, and assembles are difficult teaching tasks. This interesting teaching tool introduces the dance student to this demanding work, from the beginner to the older students. The combinations are efficient and effective. We demonstrate leaps and across the floor combinations for the centre. The video includes the eight classical directions of the body in a reverance combination for the end of class with an across the floor running section. It promotes class structure and makes a beautiful ending in ballet class. Ballet teachers shown these videos approve the work and agree that this is a realistic approach. The dance student is engaged in movement and expression, not tedious technique.
Hebert Dancentre "Goes to the Movies"
Our 2003 end of the year performance is documented with a three camera shoot. Length is approximately 160 minutes performed on a professional stage with costumes, lighting, scenery and props. Our entire school performs in this video, suggesting choreography ideas, costume and musical choices. See another work to help your decisions for your next performance. From the opening number to the finale, you see what could work for your students. Call for more information or fill out order form.
